What you need to know:

After take-off the flight will proceed towards the northern side of the volcano in the municipalities of Piedimonte Etneo, Linguaglossa and always climbing in altitude you will be able to admire the majestic coniferous forest and the old lava flows that descend almost to touch the Etna villages.

Heading more and more towards the peaks, you will fly over the Piano Provenzana ski resort with a unique view of the 2002 lava flows that formed the series of craters called “the button hole”, here the vegetation stops and the sciara takes over and will accompany you up to to the majestic view of the 4 summit craters. We are at about 3500 meters above sea level and the view from here extends over all of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands and Calabria. The descent will begin along the wildest side of the Volcano to reach the Etna Sud ski resort and the Sapienza refuge. From here you will enjoy a unique view of the city and the gulf of Catania. Proceeding east we will fly over the old extinct Silvestri craters and we will pass on the “donkey’s back” which gives access to the enormous Valle del Bove. We will admire the lava flows of 2002 that lapped the town of Zafferana Etnea.

A last look at the coast that connects Catania to Taormina, the vineyards and lush crops and you will return.
