What you need to know:

After take-off the flight will proceed towards the northern side of the volcano in the municipalities of Piedimonte Etneo, Linguaglossa and always climbing in altitude you will be able to admire the majestic coniferous forest and the old lava flows that descend almost to touch the Etna villages.

Heading more and more towards the peaks, you will fly over the ski resort of Piano Provenzana with a unique view of the lava flows of 2002 which formed the series of craters called “the buttonhole”, here the vegetation stops and the sciara takes over and will accompany you up to the majestic view of the 4 summit craters. We are at about 3500 meters above sea level and the view from here extends over all of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands and Calabria. The descent will begin along the wildest side of the Volcano to reach the Etna Sud ski resort and the Sapienza refuge. From here you will enjoy a unique view of the city and the gulf of Catania. Proceeding east we will fly over the old extinct Silvestri craters and we will pass on the “donkey’s back” which gives access to the enormous Valle del Bove. We will admire the lava flows of 2002 that lapped the town of Zafferana Etnea. Continue to descend to reach the marina of Riposto, a well-known and popular tourist port and from there, flying along the coast over the beaches and the turquoise sea, you reach Giardini Naxos, the Greek excavations and then on towards Taormina (the pearl tourism in Sicily). The Greek theatre, the castle, and down towards the so famous gulfs and inlets, Capo Taormina, Isola Bella and Castelmola. A last look at the coast, a passage towards the castle of Calatabiano and we will return.
